Well, manufacturers simply can't put the same amount of effort into a less prestigious component like the seat in large-scale production as developers who deal with nothing else can.
Craft and high-tech
At Touratech, seat production has the character of a manufactory. At the Murnau site, specialists at Crew68 work day in, day out on nothing else but the perfect seat feeling. And they do this specifically for each motorbike model. In the intensive development process leading up to the finished seat, traditional crafts such as mould making and saddlery meet a whole host of modern technologies.
Vehicle-specific foam core
The foam hardness of the seat core is not only adjusted to the specific model by individually mixing the components, but also specially adapted for the different seat heights of a motorbike model. Once the perfect hardness has been found, the perfect contour of the foam core is worked out in a careful procedure. It is not only a matter of avoiding annoying edges, as Touratech comfort seats and benches have a special surface contour that effectively relieves the coccyx and the seat legs. In addition, the shape ensures that the pelvis is tilted slightly forward, which helps the rider to adopt an ergonomically sensible, upright sitting position. An additional benefit of the unique contour of the Touratech comfort seats is the reduced crotch length, which makes it easier for the rider to reach the ground with his feet while maintaining the same seat height.

The foam core and seat cover are bonded together over their entire surface to prevent the two components from shifting against each other. The result is a wonderfully firm sitting feeling and optimal power transmission for precise handling.
In addition, the Fresh Touch technology reflects the infrared part of the sunlight, which results in up to 10 degrees less heating of the bench. Unlike other suppliers, Touratech has been using waterproof taped seams for more than 15 years, so that the penetration of water into the foam core is effectively prevented.
Individuality and Functionality
Touratech comfort seats share many proven design features. And yet each bench is a product specially adapted to the respective motorbike model. If, for example, the developers determine in their careful analysis that the rider tends to slide forward with the standard equipment, the profile and inclination of the foam core are modified accordingly. The individual adjustment goes down to the smallest detail. For example, riders of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure will be pleased with the orange seams of the Touratech bench - an effective accent that corresponds perfectly with the vehicle design.
The finished bench seat can be removed from the RIM mould.
The optimised shape comes into its own especially with the low seat benches and really brings out that last extra centimetre of seat height.
